    Angry Ebuyer warning on AM3+

Don't buy Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AMD 870 Socket AM3+ 7.1 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard from Ebuyer as they are still sending out rev3.0 instead of 3.1 even though they are advertising the latest version with the black socket which makes the board AM3+ ready.

Please see the links for differences

How many people has this affected? Or has it only happened to you? I'm guessing ebuyer sent out the wrong revision by mistake and will correct it if you contact them.... I bet it's nothing but a simple mix up (no online store is perfect).

They do have both listed so hopefully this is just a mistake with what has been sent.

    AM3 version:

    AM3+ version:

    Re: Ebuyer warning on AM3+

I had a similar problem with a company I bought hard drives from, When the drive arrived it was a different model to what I had ordered. They agreed it was a mistake and they had plenty of the right one and would send another. Again it was wrong, It happened 3 times until it became obvious that the drives in that 'pick location' were the wrong drives.

    Re: Ebuyer warning on AM3+

When i placed the order they only were only listing the black ones in stock at a qty of 10 in stock. After receiving the delivery i rang up to query and spoke to the Tech guys, i had a hard job in explaining the major differences between version 3.0 and 3.1. They obviously don't keep themselves up to date with new technology.

Because i needed a board to install so i get my pc up and running i decided to keep the board, however i have had major issues with Achi and once set in the bios if i tried to reload the bios it would hang when detecting the hard drives and dvd drive. It would also hang when trying to get the boot menu to show, and that even happened with no sata drives just a usb drive plugged in.

Other problems with it were with my intel X25-M G2 80Gb it would take almost 2 mins to boot into windows and the same to shutdown, hence i have no choice but to RMA'd the board and will get a refund. Won't use Ebuyer again in a hurry.

    Re: Ebuyer warning on AM3+

Homeking the link you gave for the AM3 version is for the GA870-UD3 and not the GA870-USB3 version, i received the USB3 product with white socket yesterday which they haven't now had listed on their website for a few days now, it certainly wasn't listed over the bank holiday weekend.

I'll try and do without for another week or so and hopefully Scan/Overclockers will get them in stock soon.
