    What he said.

I was looking out for a Zacate laptop/netbook for Christmas, but they only started appearing in the last couple of weeks so I just bought one. They sold 3 million CPUs apparently, but that doesn't mean they have been in our shops. When was Zacate announced, last November??

As long as you get something with a discrete graphics I'm sure you'll be fine, I wouldn't want to rely on the Intel graphics drivers to get me througn a graphics intense course.

Re: Buying a new laptop: is Llano worth waiting for?

OK since everyone's been so friendly and helpful I guess I owe some sort of closure to this thread

I went and bought a Dell XPS 15 (or L502X) for £425 from Dell Outlet that was advertised to have an Nvidia 550m GPU. That's right, I thought it was probably too good to be true too and it was. It came with Intel 3000 graphics and I wrote to them. They said they'd either offer a refund or they could compensate me for £65. Well I decided that I'll take the compensation seeing as it's effectively an i5 Sandy Bridge laptop for £360. I'll use the laptop for the summer and if it's OK then I'll go with it. If however it isn't then I can give this to my mum and I'll get a new one towards the end of the summer when hopefully there will be more choice with Llano floating around. So thanks again guys!

Well at least you complained about it, imagine the amount of people who would have bought that and known nothing about it!
