Question Putting the bulldozer amougnst the i7's

    Hi all,

this is my second post so no need to be sooooooo gentle?

That said....thanks to all for your constructive, positive & helpful comments.

Out of sheer devilement.....& a need to understand.

Whats the best processor i7 or AMD Bulldozer?

I'm only kidding..... with the budget I have the real question I want to ask (with the benefit of hindsight & all your combined experience)

What system provides value for money & more importantly updatability & future proof longevity?

I base this on Intel's constant socket changes against AMD backward compatibility, AM3 & AM3+

My system is for gaming 40% & 60% Photo editing. (photo shop, lightroom3 & HDR rendering)

Some help would also be much appreciated on what choice of case & power supply would best suit a high end build to include x2 GPU's & water cooling?

    Thanks in advance
(please take this post in the good humor it's meant)

    Hi bigizzman.

Your question will be much easier to answer in a few weeks when we know about Bulldozer performance. At the moment we can only compare products that you can buy in shops, which puts the Intel Sandybridge based systems at the top of the value for money and longevity stakes.

Re: Putting the bulldozer amougnst the i7's

You will almost certainly end up with more bang-for-buck with the bulldozer but that's purely a guess at the moment. I would sit tight and wait for benchmarks and pricing but based on past form and the current needs of games and photoshop, I think you would be wise to sit patiently for now.
