How often do you re apply the thermal paste on your CPU ? I've noticed a change in the temps by about 5 degrees or so.

Have you just reapplied it now? And how long had the old paste been on there? And what paste are you using?
I just reapply when I change the cooler, so never any more. Using Arctic Silver 5 too so there is a cure-time to take into account before the paste works as well as it should - another reason I never reapply.
I fitted the cooler in march 2009. Can't remember exactly but, think I used arctic silver 3. It used to idle at about 25 or 27 and now it's 30ish. I regularly blast out the dust using a compressor so I know it is all clean in there.
I'm sure I read somewhere a long time ago that the paste should be renewed every so many years.
Makes sense I suppose - mine must have been baked solid by all the folding I have been doing. I might reapply and try and new paste while I'm at it...MX2 still good?
Well, I changed it this evening. The old paste did look very dry. Can't say I've noticed much change. Although putting a new Thermal pad on the northbridge chip has lowered its temperature by 1*C
I used Arctic Silver 5 on the CPU as I had some, Was tempted to use Ceramique.
Yup, it's still quite decent. Have a look here:
