Don't Jesus have storage cupboards? We had them at Girton if there wasn't lockable storage in the rooms.

I was pooled to Tit Hall, there may well be storage cupboards I'll find out.

I only spent one night there, and wasn't in the state to remember things like whether they had them or not :p

 Trinity Hall, colloquially known as Tit Hall - it wasn't funny 650 years ago, and still isn't now
Re: Is this an awful plan?
Right, current undergrad says I could keep a pc tower there... so that doesn't solve any problems :D
I suppose a tower is a good idea actually...
Re: Is this an awful plan?
A small PC is definitely worth it IMHO!! :)
My Shuttle has a custom case so I used to take it with me on the train with the keyboard and mouse when I went home.
I had another smaller monitor at home so I left my 20" one in my room.
Re: Is this an awful plan?
Another thing - don't take too much stuff to university. You probably won't end up using most of it and it will be more of a pain in the arse moving it too.
If you have to pay for storage you have too much stuff.

I think I'll take a small pc and my 24" monitor, then get that small hp pavillion fusion notebook perhaps... although over summer I'd maybe find a way of bringing my pc home.
Re: Is this an awful plan?
Most of my friends left their computers in halls all year round. Some didn't even take them home over summer. I assume Cambridge colleges still provide ridiculously cheap accommodation, comparitively speaking. Don't rule out staying in Cambridge for most of your vacations - I went home for Christmas, but stayed up for most of Easter: it was really nice having the best part of college to myself for several weeks :D
Tit Hall's a decent enough college, had a couple of friends there. Enjoy yourself :)

An SG07 is not that much bigger than a Shuttle though and will fit in a small duffel bag (look at the dimensions).
How many expansion slots do you really need and how many functions can be handled by USB devices too??

I think it's on average about £100 a week accommodation, could be a bit less or more I think.

Get a duffel bag and your sorted. On top of this take the box your monitor came in with you to Cambridge. Use this to transport the monitor on the train. You can use a folding cart to move it around.
You can always pack some clothes around the computer and a ruck sack can be used to transport other things too.
