Shopping List - Laptop, Bluray, Harddrive, And Case?
Hey Guys,
I'm looking to buy some stuff - Namely a laptop, bluray drive, harddrive and possibly a case; as the title suggests.
With regards to laptop, arround £600 - £800 would be ideal, something small l so Maybe 14 - 15" and not the weight of 10 bricks, uses is general stuff (internet, etc) and maybe some gaming. Towards the £600 end would be preferred.
Bluray drive - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/samsu...yer-retail-box , any good?
harddrive - I guess this, http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-s...cache-89ms-ncq ?
Last but not least, I've wanted to update my case since I got it - and now may be the time, my tolerance to noise has significiantly decreased so I'm looking to get a silent case. however looking at the price, they seem to have doubled than what i remember? - So any silent mods? I'm thinking maybe fans - the tricools seem to be the loudest thing in my case. It also vibrates, i notice by pressing down on my case the noise levels decreases (sounds of echo or vibrations that go away) - can i rememdy this without sitting on it?
Thanks guys ! <3

Good choice with the HD, the F3's are quick, quiet and cheap. For the case, I'd recommend a Fractal Design R3. It has sound damping on the doors and is well regarded for the price.

In terms of gaming laptops, you won't get a proper gaming laptop for the lower end of that budget. Something with an i3 processor and discrete mobile card will set you back at least £600 but will not be playing recent games at decent settings. What sort of games were you looking at?

Thanks for that suggestion, case llooks good and reasonably priced. With regards to games, to be honest will probably he the occasional game of CSS, which should run quiet well on anything in that price range and below, wont.really be stuff that's more resource consuming

Bump - Any ideas on a good blu ray drive?
Re: Shopping List - Laptop, Bluray, Harddrive, And Case?
For case, I'd look at the fans first, the old tricools weren't great
Replace them with the fractal design fans 120mm http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm...ber-fan-mounts and 140mm http://www.scan.co.uk/products/140mm...ber-fan-mounts
the air flow is a bit low on these but they are near silent and the rubber fan plus help absorb any vibrations.
the F3 is one of the best price vs performance drives out there.
bulray, no idea but it looks fine.
for laptop have a look at this dell http://www.ebuyer.com/product/268882
