    Old Arctic Silver 3

I've used up my TIM that came with the Noctua CPU cooler. With new MB on the way I've got an old tube (roughly 5-6 years old) of AS3 lying around. Any reason why this shouldn't be usable still? Would prefer not to be buying some new TIM if not needed.

I`d say it should be fine, just make sure it still has a fairly fluid consistency and hasn`t turned to a lump of concrete.

even if it seperates you can mix it back together

Just used it on an old computer and seems to be okay. Is pretty viscous stuff but hasn't hardened.

I always preferred the consistency of AS3 to AS5, I just found it easier to work with.

I store the thermal paste so the little syringes are always pointing down and it helps a bit with the separation.

I have a tube of AS5 you can have, I use MX2 so it will probably just end up in the bin. PM me if you want it.
