Could use a marker or black tape to cover the LED...
Slightly bigger, but what about:

I have one I bought from Play.com
Are you thinking about going covert ops or something?
I've not seen anything that small.
the HP one reddragon posted looks good.
you also get ones like this http://www.verbatim-europe.co.uk/en_...19856__42.html which is 30mm long but very flat (thinner than a normal usb plug) http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/3242/25...l?ob=4&cpage=2
(I have one of these http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/3242/25...l?ob=4&cpage=3 it's the same type of stick in a nice metal keyring housing)
I've also got one of these http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4...-/Product.html
I got it for my phone and the usb adaptor is pretty tiny, you stick the micro sd card in the back, it's the size of a usb stick and 25mm long.
Micro SD cards are not the fastest of transfer speeds though.
I have seen small ones like this around dont know about LEDs on them though

ultra small seems to bring up several
If you are thinking of using it as say additional storage on a netbook, check to see if it has a SD card slot. The wife uses
the SD for ready boost.
It should be very easy to desolder the LED in the buffalo one you're showing if you know someone with an iron :)
can be tricky because they are so small, could always just block it out. (paint/cover it)
The other big issue is these things are not designed to come apart, you often have to break the clips of the plastic housing to get it open.
What about something like this:

I have a couple of these
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-s...orlds-smallest
Quite fast drives, very small, and durable.
Thanks all for your help.
Going to order one of the HP ones as its for my car radio and dont want it sticking out too much, or have a flashy light!
4gb of mp3s should keep me more than happy.
