    Arctic Silver Ceramique 2

Just spotted this over at AS's website, looks like it's only just been released: http://www.arcticsilver.com/cmq2.html

Can't find any reviews yet and I can only find it for sale at frozencpu (USA) but will post with anything I find.

i use the 1st one on parts like video cards and memory, prefer AS5 for the CPU' still.

I prefer to use completely non-conductive pastes to be on the safe side, plus metallic pastes tend to be harder to thoroughly clean off. Funny how some pastes get loads of reviews yet some get very few or none, I've still only found one or two for that AS Matrix paste.

After a look around I came across Coollaboratory Liquid Pro while reading reviews for MX 4 it got the best temps in the comparison

and its not like thermal paste its a liquid metal :
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFhbq...layer_embedded
I think its easier to apply

EDIT: They have an ultra version

Yeah but it's not going to be fun to clean off (involves using sandpaper), plus it reacts with some metals and comes in a full-on hypodermic syringe. For the 1-2C difference I'd rather stick with normal paste.

Sand Paper? You can clean it off with wipes that contain isopropyl alcohol
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4v3k47Pdbw
and you cant use it with aluminium coolers

OK I managed to find the following in a matter of seconds on Google, I don't think any of them are where I originally heard it but it seems it 'sets' after a while - that video shows him wiping it off straight away.

    Re: Arctic Silver Ceramique 2

No that removal is the new Liquid metal Ultra, the old pro one didn't come off with isopropyl

They also did Liquid metal Pads http://www.coollaboratory.com/en/pro...quid-metalpad/ which is like a sheet of silver leaf (but isn't) however you have to run it through a hot burn in cycle to melt the pad, they where the ones which we're really really hard to get of as you're basically soldering the cpu to the cooler.
Not that the liquids are much better as they do basically the same thing weld the cooler to the cpu, only use on chips with an IHS (esp gpu's) as bare chips are to fragile and easly damaged when removing the cooler.
And copper or nickel only, as this stuff reacts with aluminium.

    Great thermal conductivity though.

    Re: Arctic Silver Ceramique 2

Something like this would probably be great for longevity in pre-built systems, but they're probably the ones that need the least cooling. The only other reasonable use I can see is for extreme OC benchmarkers who need every C they can get to break records, other than that I'm sure the ease of use of normal paste must outweigh the tiny temperature drop for most people. It would also reduce the resale value of the CPU - I know I wouldn't buy a CPU with this baked on for anywhere near the normal price.
