Thinking about moving over to the green side...AMD!

Having gotten fed up with my rig for some "unknown" reason i want a change, far too long have i been with intel and now i've decided i want to give amd anouther go...a few things i want to mention is my rig!

core i5 750 quad core, OC's to 4ghz easily but i sit it on 3.4ghz to be safe,
Msi motherboard mATX - has to be for the new build a mATX! needs to support at least 1 pci slot! (wireless card)

wouldn't mind a small pci-e just for a sound card...not needed but wanted!

GTX ssc 460, dont need to change this!

4gb ddr 3- new board needs to support my memory!

So basically i want to replace the motherboard and cpu...cooler wise im sorted

As long as the new chip/motherboard stands upto my rig now im happy to move over, hey i might even save some money selling my parts and going AMD!

    So...thoughts, suggestions? thanks!

Bulldozer has not been released yet and AMD has stated that it will take two to three months to enter retail. Hopefully over the next few weeks we will get some more tidbits of information about Bulldozer.

Yep, the i750 should be as fast as a phenom x6, you'll be waiting for bulldozer which should be around in aug, so not too long now.

Re: Thinking about moving over to the green side...AMD!

If you got an AM3+ motherboard then you could get a cheap & OK AM3 CPU for now and upgrade to Bulldozer when it comes out, selling the old cpu to cut your losses.

You would need to be careful of which motherboard you get though, lots of uATX motherboards can only cope with 95W CPUs so you can't use the high end 125W stuff.
