Ordered XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply and got something else instead!

I ordered the XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply from a computer shop (not sure if I can mention it here) and they gave me a different XFX PSU!!

    I wanted this one...

And I got this XFX 750W XXX Edition Semi-Modular (Silver)...

Notice there is no distinct bright green! In the end, they were trying to fob me off saying stock don't always match up with the pictures but I wasn't convinced and I got a refund back.

What I would like to ask is, is this actually a better model or worse that the XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply that I wanted to originally buy?

Yeah you can mention shop names here, Hexus is pretty independent. Who was it and have you got a link to the product so we can see the description?

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement!

I wanted to buy this yesterday but it said pre-order. When I saw that it was available to buy today I thought I'd buy it but it wasn't to be...

Re: Ordered XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply and got something else instea

I am pretty sure this XFX 750W XXX Edition is inferior to the Black edition.

I'm read somewhere that its semi modular.

The one you received is a good one to be honest as it's made by Seasonic, however I'm not sure how it compares to the XXX Black Edition.

EDIT: Actually the first gen of XFX Pros were made by Seasonic, not too sure of this one actually.

Aren't all XFX PSU's made by Seasonic?

They claim to have lots of stock, so you should get what you wanted.

However it wouldn't surprise me if XFX were just updating the 750W black edition with the XXX edition, the specs look pretty identical.

They did look and they were all the XXX edition... I've ordered it elsewhere now!

Re: Ordered XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply and got something else instea

I ordered this XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply from Coastway Computer Store online and again I got the XFX 750W XXX Edition!!

What the hell is going on and am I sweating over nothing?

Are they genuinely the same item except the different colour?

Can someone let me know asap as all my PC parts are here with me today and I don't know if I should continue to build my new rig or not...

Re: Ordered XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply and got something else instea

I am really confused by the whole modular thing with XFX psus. On scan I saw a 850w XFX modular psu for £95 which sounded like a good deal, but it looked non modular to me. So i googled it's product name and found a jonnyguru review which stated it was NON MODULAR. Then i went on the XFX website to check and according to their product page they have no modular psus at all! Which is obviously a lie because i can see a semi modular one in the picture above.

Very confusing ... which XFX would clear it up with some clearer product names like over psu brands do.
