Entry level PC build under £400

Hi

I'm going to build my work college and entry level PC for web surfing word storing family photos is the AMD A8/A6 perfectly good for this? Probably need to last about 3-4 years. What PSU would be suitable for mATX case .

The first build is AMD based.



The motherboard has SATA3.0 and USB3.0 ports and the IGP should be decent for light gaming.

AFAIK,Llano should be fine with 1.65V RAM.

The second build is Intel based and uses a mini-ITX motherboard.



The mini-ITX motherboard has a PCI-E 16X slot in case you want to add a graphics card.

The Llano A8-3850 will be faster than a Core i3 2100 and Core i3 570 in most multi-threaded applications. The Core i3 2100 will be faster in light threaded applications and most games when compared to a Llano A8-3850 and a Core i3 570 if using a discrete card.

The AMD HD6550D IGP is faster than both the Intel HD2000 and HD3000 though.

Ok cheers might go with AMD little guy over the big evil corporation that was my new years resolution support smaller independents than bloated corporations lets just say I don't get my coffee from starbucks or costa!

The only thing is the RAM. I would check that 1.65V RAM is fine. IIRC, the IGP should be around 6% faster with RAM running at 1866MHZ:

MSI state 240pin 1.5 volt for the RAM. I'm not sure how much you can adjust the voltage on that board.

It might be better to get 1.5V 1600MHZ DDR3 for a few quid more then.
