    Cheap ext hdd options

Need an ext hdd for storing videos on initially i was going to go for

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digi...0047204&sr=8-1

But then I discovered cheap ext hdd enclosures such as
    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/3238/25...k/Product.html

I'm thinking the hdd enclosure would be a better option as I can choose the disk to put in it/ swap disks around easier. But the enclosure disk bundle would have a higher quality disk and enclosure as they're produced by hdd company so i'd imagine lower costs?

Anyone had any experience with similar models? Care to reccommend anything?

    Thanks

Choose an enclosure you like, and then choose whichever drive you like the look of, you'll get the core drive cheaper that way too and will usually get a better deal, and you won't end up with the bundled software that comes on some external drives.

If your only going to use it on a desktop PC you could use a trayless rack and get a faster transfer speed and the convenience of being able to use several bare HDD's.

Why not go for a usb docking station - that way you can choose what sata drives you want to use from your collection and it is easy to swap them over at your leisure, rather than farting about with enclosures.

    Something like this:
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...DDDocking.html

can take up to 2tb 3.5" and also 2.5" sata drives - free next day delivery as well with FREEDEL11 code.
