gaming mouse, recommendations?
Right i swear by my sidewinder x8 and MS has been great when it was faulty, replaced asap and free however the replacement then broke (scroll wheel went)... they wanted proof of purchase which i supplied and they sent a new one no problems, however the problem was that the replacement i received wasnt 100% flat so if you right clicked the whole mouse would dip/wobble and it seemed to struggle to track on glass compared to previous mice, asked microsoft for a replacement and thought that was the end of it till they emailed me after saying it was authorised basically telling me that since my replacement was so close together (well i said the replacement was damn faulty!) i need to send it the replacement and the previous one to them for "investigation"... the key part of the email for me was this :
As soon as we receive your products we will investigate further.
You can sent the orders back on your expense to the following address:

They want me to send TWO MICE to GERMANY at my expense! It was great service till i got screwed over by essentially a DOA replacement. So im going to cut my losses and go back on the hunt for a new mouse, suggestions? I wont pay more than £40 really as this sidewinder x8 retails at £40 my preferences are:
Switchable dpi
Good notched scroll wheel
Couple of extra buttons, thumb buttons not to many though
relatively high dpi
Tracks on glass, steel series Icemat 2- This is crucial, if it doesnt then its not good for me :P
Any suggestions are appreciated as i havent looked at mice for awhile :D.
Re: gaming mouse, recommendations?
Any optical mice will track on glass. Laser mice won't. Razor death adder looks good for 45. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/razer-d...qaalp&istBid=t

Re: gaming mouse, recommendations?
Ok ive found out that my replacement X8 works but not on glass very well, as the mouse is more expensive than a mouse mat/pad id rather just replace my ice mat with a normal cloth or something so whats your recommendations for a good <£20 mouse mat, resistance i want fairly low really.
Re: gaming mouse, recommendations?
I cannot recommend the Logitech Mx518 enough, I used my first one for about 7 years before it started showing any signs of wear, and I only replaced it (with another MX518) because the logo had worn off.
