My sound has just stopped working

Any idea why this is happening? It is 'playing'on the computer as I can see the video display of the sound working to the beat, etc. But there is nothing coming out of my speaker.

MY set up is that I have a soundbar connected to my TV. When I turn the soundbar off it works out the sound comes from my TV, but when I turn it on there is nothing. It is connected with a HDMI cable and has until now been working fine.

Any idea whats wrong?

Check your sound devices and make sure the correct device is selected.

Seems like the sound device is set to the HDMI source and not the Soundbar?

It always goes from to the TV, have now worked out the solution...rebooted the TV seems to have worked....weird!

What you have there is a standard run-of-the-mill HDMI handshake issue.

The bane of my life!

I always keep the HDMIyo app handy for when it happens as sometimes you have to sleep/reboot the PC - turning the TV/amp off and on doesn't always fix it.
