A64 - Multiplier locked?

Just a quick question - are the A64s multiplier locked like the XP chips?

Also, which are the top contenders for best A64 motherboard?

The multiplier can be changed DOWNWARD, so 1-10 is unlocked while 11 and above is locked.

If you Won't overclock then the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe is a very good mobo, if you wanna overclock you best uwe a nForce 3-250GB/VIA K8T800 PRO mobo !

I thought only the FX's were unlocked (cause they are enthusiast cpus), and the A64s were locked. Has this changed lately then?

The A4 FX-series are fully unlocked, means upward and downward, the A64 is only downward unlocked ! ( For the Cool&Quiet feature, althoug the A4FX doesn't use it ! )
