Hi all
I wanted to write a comprehensive thread on the HP DX2250 Microtower PC which uses the MSI 0A7C Motherboard aka MS-7297...I have one as my work PC and I know from all my searching over the years that information on this Motherboard especially is really tough to come by! I have learnt alot about it but still much to learn, but ill sharewhat I know and I have posted some links below which I have found useful over the years...
The top link is invaluable, its the full specs for the PC / Motherboard and has guided me more than anything as to which upgrades I can make on this motherboard...My current setup still has the Sempron single core 3400+ CPU, but as you can see on the specs link this AM2 socket motherboard can supposedly accept many of the Athlon X2 Dual core processors. I have 2gb of PC2-5300 RAM, which as far as I am aware is the maximum this motherboard will take, with the RAM frequency capped at 630Mhz unless you unlock the BIOS...The graphics card is a PCI-Express X16 v1.0, so dont shell out hundreds on a PCI-Express X16 v2.0 graphics card as youll never see the full benefit!
If anyone has any higher settings than these, please enlighten us, id love to think it may be possible to run a quad core processor off this board or PC2-6400 ram if ur able to unlock the BIOS to 800Mhz +...
Heres some useful links related to this PC / Motherboard
