To improve this problem, Please use the attached DOS model patch tool.
1. Please unzip attached file to Bootable media (USB,CD, Floppy...etc).
2. Please connect Target HDD to Primary / Mast.
3. Booting the system to DOS mode by bootable media.(which with this F/W flash program).

Note: Please do not warm boot(Ctrl+Alt+Delet , or push Reset button..etc) your PC during the

what a joke.
Re: Flashing Firmware on HDD in RAID 10 Array
well yeh, but i never did due to the amount of faffing about !
bit daft really consideirng the likes of OCZ's toolbox for a windows based flash.
Re: Flashing Firmware on HDD in RAID 10 Array
That's sort of how I end up writing my reports, at the end of the working week.
Re: Flashing Firmware on HDD in RAID 10 Array
Looks sensible enough to me, just a regular flash but making sure you turn off rather than ctrl-alt-del. I'm fine with Samsung's Korean engineers not having perfect English as long as they can be good engineers & produce working fixes like (hopefully) this. Maybe the Engrish in the instructions will encourage people read the entire thing before attempting the flashing :)
I dislike Windows flashing tools due to a bad experience a few years ago.
Re: Flashing Firmware on HDD in RAID 10 Array
On a side note Jay, there is no issues with flashing while being a member of RAID.
Done all of my 15 drivers on three different hardware RAID controllers and all its good =]

Not always true. Investigate it carefully.
Typically onboard SATA RAID controllers - more specifically Intel chipset ones - are ok with HDD flashing.
However our two RAID10 machines (#2 & 3 in my siggie using 3Ware and SI3114 respectively) required us to remove a drive - flash it separately - then rebuild the array. I did this for 10x Maxtor Maxline 250GB drives and it took days!
Imagine my joy when I discovered the 4x Western Digi 250GB RE2's I acquired later had the same firmware bug! Fortunately they were late enough to have been factory flashed :)
