    Acer Revo RL100 - good?

    Hi

Thinking of getting one of these Acer Revo RL100.

Need a Blu-Ray player and also want a media centre pc to rub XBMC, just wondering if anyone has used one of these and what their thoughts are?

I know nothing about AMD CPU's so no idea if the Neo Dual core is any good or not? Will be streaming alot of 1080p MKV's.

Anyone got any experience with these?

It's basically a low spec AMD laptop in a slim desktop case, utilising last year's AMD mobile platform + an entry level nvidia GPU (the Ion 2 chipset). Personally I don't think I'd bother at that price: you can get a new A-series APU, a socket FM1 motherboard and 4GB DDR3 for < £200 and it'll make the basis of an HTPC that would blow that out of the water...

Thanks, cost is the only reason why I haven't gone for one yet.

I've thought about building an HTPC, but it's the design of the Acer thats really appealing, I don't really have space for a big HTPC case. Unless anyone knows of a case similar in size to the Acer?
