    NF7-s Soundstorm Configuration Problem!

    Hello,

I have a pair of Logitech Z560s and they arnt working! :< I know its something to do with my soundcard as ive plugged my minidisk into the speakers, and all the channels work. At the moment, only the front right channel works clearly - whilst the other 3 are at a very very low volume. This all changes when i enable the M3D feature on the control deck of the speakers, and 3 of the channels then become to work, whilst the rear left one is set at a very low volume. Sound confusing?

Heh anyways - I was just wondering if any of you people could help me sort it. Maybe its a driver issue, or a setting..?

    Thanks

Are they plugged in right at the back of the computer?
Do you have Dolby Surround Encoding enabled?
Have you got them on the right setting, i.e. Analogue/digital and the correct amount of speakers.

And you've ran the wizard that's part of nvmixer?

Also is it program specific, in winamp you must eable hardware acceleration to take advantage of more than 2 speakers, it's a driver limitation, besides i would recommend having it enabled anyway as it solves a few other issues for example nvsysutil causing sound stuttering when running in co-existance with winamp.

Ok. I have plugged the speaker wires in corresponding the colours. Ive selected 4speakers : analogue output (digital doesnt work). Also i have selected Dolby Surround Encoding but still no luck. I have ran the wizard but that does not achieve anything :<

In winamp, where would i find hardware acceleration?

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

isnt there a problem with the sandstorm, where the rear (orange and black iirc) dont match the speaker wire colours? And you switch them over (black to orange, orange to black)? Could that be the problem?

Yeah that is a problem, but is that just for 5.1 sound? that make use of all 3 jacks...im not very familiar at all with a 4.1 set up...

btw - we are talking about 4 satellites and a sub? i.e. 4.1

I meant to say you want Dobly surround encoding off. hehe

Have you got the balance right for the sound levels? As i think the logitechs have controls of the sub as well as the ones in the control panel...Do a quick check of them, just to check the obvious.

Yer its a 4.1 setup. As for the sound levels - all of them are controlled by the control panel. Also i ave noticed that only the left and right front channels move in the main window of the control panel..

You made the mistake of enabling Surround encoding Get it switched off as its sending a Dolby Surround encoded signal (you know, that old format before DolbyDigital exsited).

Yes you do'nt want Dolby Surround encoding as you're sending a discreet 6 channel signal out.

Make sure all the levels are equal in the control panel.
