I was planning on swapping the CPUs, so the shuttle would become the pc i take to Africa. So the shuttle has the core i5 2500K, and then my current pc takes the core i3 2100.

It will be fine. The SH67H3 weighs 3.6KG including the motherboard,PSU and CPU cooler. I would stick with IGP too unless you want to take the 8400GS as a backup card.

    Edit!!

The Shuttle uses an H67 chipset so overclocking is not possible but TBH the Core i5 2500K at stock speeds is fast enough.

I guess thats sorted then, i shall buy the core i3 and then swap the processors, will need to buy extra ram and win 7 64-bit (although i did see this on eBay for about £56)

Just one extra thing, it is quite dusty around my office in Africa and my house there, its a very fine dust that gets literally everywhere. would me adding some sort of filter thing over the fans affect the cooling capabilities of the shuttle?

A mesh will decrease the airflow of any fan AFAIK.

However, the Shuttle H3 has one central combined CPU cooler and system fan know as the I.C.E. unit and there are a few fans for the PSU too.

I would get one of these blowers and clean out the dust periodically:

    http://www.jessops.com/online.store/...all-_-all&ovc=

Make sure you hold the fan blades in place as back-currents could cause damage.

    I'd not overlook the Lian-Li PC-Q08 http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product...s_index=64&g=f
It's a bit bigger, however it uses standard parts ATX psu, standard mini-ITX motherboard, it's got decent cooling and you can fit one of the all-in-one water coolers onto that top fan slot
    eg a Corsair H60 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsa...66-am2-and-am3 or Antec khuler 620 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/antec...plus-am3-3plus

However, the Lian Li Pc-Q08 is not much smaller than my current Lian Li V351. Although that being said, it is cheaper to find a small case, PSU and motherboard separately rather than buying the shuttle.

However, these systems are not as compact or as lightweight. The Shuttle has an all aluminium case. A Q08,H67 mini ITX motherboard and a PSU will not be that much different in price. I am really interested in the Q08 but it is taller than my SD37P2.

The Shuttle motherboards also have four RAM slots too.

The SG05 is steel and you can only mount one full sized hard drive too. The build quality is also lower than the Q08 or Shuttle H3 or H7 cases.

Here are some pictures of the SH67H7:

It is the same case as the SH67H3 but has a different front.

Oh no, i defiantly prefer the SH67H3, i like plain simple front panels. Hence one of the reasons i really wanted a slot loader, but cant always get everything.

Re: Q6600 overclock on mini itx?

Well the main thing I was thinking about is that the Lian-Li uses standard parts esp PSU, the biggest issue with shuttles is getting replacement bits when things go wrong, psu and motherboard being generally the most common.
I seem to remember that the newer shuttle cases can also fit mini-ITX motherboards, so the biggest general issue will be replacing the psu.
Depending where in Africa you are parts availability could be a major issue.

You can also look at the lain-li Q11 http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product...ndex=64&g=spec cooling and drive capacity is not as good, esp cpu cooler options but it is smaller.

Computer parts is defiantly not a problem in Africa, well not where i shall be going anyway. I was actually even looking at the Lian Li Q07 as the Q11, dimensions wise isn't actually that much smaller than the Lian Li V351 i currently have.

If i really wanted my dream case it would be this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRJLandwKS8
i have literally been wanting it for months now, but as i am at uni and have exams in September i haven't been able to build it or even contemplate building it or something like it.

I was also looking at the SG05, but i still have about 2 months before all this needs to be done so i got a while to think about it yet.

But yes, i had taken into account that replacements for the shuttle would be harder to come by that if i was to get a case, psu and mobo all separately.
