Question Need help choosing a laptop

Hey, I need help with looking for a new laptop for use at school next year (doing a computing A-Level course, which is good excuse to get one ) I have bought the latest edition of whatlaptop and haven't had much luck with finding anything suitable.

The budget is around £1000 bit more if it can be justified. Needs to be fairly lightweight 2.5 - 3kg is fine, screen size isn't that important. Will be used for word processing and office stuff mostly, maybe the odd game so I would like a reasonable GFX card aswell. Wireless LAN would be good to as the school has one. The Centrinos any good?

Thanks for you help in advance,

    Chris

Centrino based laptops are very good, but you'd be hard pressed to find one for a grand.

Hello, i thought woad centrino must be milking it for that premium, but novatech has some centrino 1.3g for 550 ex vat.

thg sais that the xp-m is about 24 minutes off the pentium-m chips for battery life, but much cheaper.
