    Water Cooler Burst...

So my Corsair h50 just burst in one of my editing rigs and has poured onto my Nvidia GTX275, amazingly i managed to pull it out before it did any damage.

I'm a mac user and this machine is only used for certain tasks, however i am keen to get it back up and running so i am looking at replacing the h50 with an - Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme. It was recommended to me by one of my tech guys and i was curious to get some more opinions.

I dont know if the h50 is fixable it seems to have bulged slightly on the section that holds the copper plate. Can post pictures if anyones interested.

    Thanks guys.

    Specs are as follows:

    CPU - Intel Core I7 920 – 2.66Ghz @ 3.6GHz
    Motherboard - Gigabyte X58 UD3R
    RAM - 6GB DDR3 Triple Channel OCZ Gold 1333MHz
    Graphics Card - Palit GTX 275 896MB
    CPU Cooling - Corsair H50 + 2xNoctua P12
Hard Disk - Western Digital Caviar 640GB
DVD Drive - DVD RW IDE
Operating System - Windows 7 Home Premium Retail
Case - Coolermaster Cosmos RC 1000
Power Supply - Antec 550W Modular

Pretty sure the original H50 had a 5 year warranty so you should be able to get it replaced FOC. Post in the corsair forum on here or contact the company that sold you it.

    Re: Water Cooler Burst...

Unfortunately, the H50 seems to only come with a 2 year warranty (see here)- so unless the OP is within this period then a warranty replacement is unlikely.

As for a replacement heatsink, the TRUE (thermalright ultra extreme 120) is a nice bit of kit, but I would be tempted to go for the new Thermalright Silver Arrow - it really is a fantastic cooler and really quiet.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah unfortunately it seems like i may only have the two years, in which case i will probably have to kidnap their kids if i want them to do anything about it...

Ha but seriously i'll look into the Silver Arrow and see if i can do anything with this Corsair because it seems a bit of a waste.

    Re: Water Cooler Burst...

Seems its the H60 with the 5 year warranty

Still might be worth posting in the corsair forum to see if they will fix it.
