Can someone help me totally clone a drive that contains a boot partition?

    Hi,

I had a hard disk failure, for complicated reasons I need to swap the replacement one (WD) with another one I already have (a seagate). How can I totally clone the seagate one to the WD so I can use the WD as the single boot drive on the computer that use to take the seagate one.

I think you all get what i mean .

Download the Acronis tools from the WD website - lets you clone / backup whole drives. Normally about £30, but the WD edition just needs to detect one of the drives in your system as WD to work.

Lots of info in the link uni posted. Personally, I'd use a linux live CD and the dd command.
