DVB-S2/T2 Tuner

Well I'm beginning to look around for a replacement to my trusty Compro S350 DVB-S tuner.

I bought the Compro because it seemed excellent value, and at the time BBC HD and ITV HD were broadcast in DVB-S (now S2).

I require at least one satellite tuner because I get annoyed at Scottish football highlights pushing Match of the Day 2 back an hour (and not having cup football on ITV).

Having looked around the Blackgold 3630 looks an excellent bit of kit with 1x DVB-T2 tuner and 1x DVB-S2 tuner, giving me high flexibility.

Has anyone any experience of this card? Does it work well in Windows Media Centre (Windows 7 version). Are there any complications of having two types of tuners in Media Centre? Are there any other (cheaper) alternatives?

Not sure about DVB-S2, but MCE needs work arounds for DVB-T2. I also don't know how well it handles different tuner types on one system. I know MediaPortal handles it all fine though, 1.2.0 Final is to be released in the next week or so (the only difference from 1.2.0 RC is a change to the installer that would prevent you from doing an in place upgrade in the future).

There isn't a lot of choice when it comes to DVB-T2 cards, the Blackgold ones are used a lot on the MediaPortal forums. I don't know of any particular problems with them, but it might be worth heading over to http://forum.team-mediaportal.com and having a search about for any issues. Or there are all the MCE forums if you don't get any other responses here
