    CD-RW/DVD combo drive decisions

    Hi.

Getting a CD-RW/DVD drive tomorrow so....which of the following (or any other suggests) - i have a silver Lian-li case

    Sony: (52x32x52x16)
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=10208 <- can get this in silver or black or white

    Samsung: (52x24x52x16)
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=7514 <- can get this in black or white

    Lite-on: (52x32x52x16)
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=9927 <- can get this in black or white

    LG: (52x24x52x16)
    http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=9694

    Couple of questions:
    1) Can you get 8mb buffered drives? like hard drives?
    2) Is it worth me getting it Retail? - for warrenty
    3) Is there a noticeable difference between 24 and 32 re-write speed?

    Thanks for the help chaps.
    Will

I have a Lite-On combo drive, never had any problems with it.
    Pretty quiet and very reliable.
The Sony drives are made by Lite-On....

Got one of the Samsung ones and its fine. Just a little noisy when reading DVDs, but that might be due to stealthing it...

You do realise that for an extra £15-20 you can get a DVD R/RW?

DVD-RW drives are only unreliable if you buy dodgy media (£7 as opposed to £10)
24x will write a disk in about 3 minutes, if you really need it done in 2and a half then get 32x

Well if the sony is a lite-on ( and it prolly is cos the speeds are the same) then i'd get that in silver.

Lite-on and plextor are the best at copying..... sony and silver look good.....price is fine.....

    I'd get the sony....
