Forum advice needed. (mainly OC based)
Hi all,
I'm just about to build my first gaming pc completely by myself. The main thing i wanted to ask you about is next steps. i know i've bought some parts that have given me the oppurtunity to overclock well and i was just curious to get the forum point of view on what i should overclock, what i should leave and how to go about doing it (new to OCing) Also any other advise you guys would care to give me would be more than appreciated. Also what programmes i should download, all that sorta stuff.
anyways here's the build...
*CASE: Corsair 600T White edition
*OPTICAL DRIVE: Samsung SH-222
*MoBo: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P
*PROCESSOR: Intel 2500K
*HEATSINK: bequiet! Dark Rock Advanced
*PSU: NZXT Hale90 650W
*RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB white edition at 1.35v
*GPU: MSI 560-ti Hawk edition
*HDD: Seagate barracuda 1TB Sata 3 (yes i know sata 6GB/s is irrelavant)
*OS: Windows 7 Premium
many thanks in advance!

I'd seriously consider look at getting an SSD mate if you can afford to, possibly the best upgrade I've put in my PC this year.

I'd love to mate but already stretching the budget as it is. can't really afford it. Plus i've been told theyre tricky to set up as you have to make sure the page file or something isn't saved to the SSD wearing it out. correct me if i'm wrong?
that said. which SSD would you recommend if i were to get one at a good price to performance ratio and is it possible to install at a later point?

Any of the major branded ones, Crucial, OCZ etc. Very happy with my C300.

well you've persuaded me to buy an SSD.. might have to go hungry for a week or so though. Anyways.. How hard is it to make sure that the majority of programmes, office, most games etc. install on my HDD and not my SSD. is it easy to put your most played games on an SSD and your music, everything else etc. on the HDD.

It's really quite easy. My SDD is where I install Windows and my main apps and so on, my steam games and rgular games are installed on one of my HDD's. It's just a matter of telling your software where you need to install it :)
Why not do some reviews on that model of SSD ? Google is your friend :)
