Question How do you put spacers on mobo?

I'm trying to build a computer today, so first of all, I thought I'd make sure I knew where all the spacers where going to go, and what I was going to do with them. I found the correct holes for them, but when I put them to the motherboard - they're extremelly loose. I've got some gold screw things, which I think are the spacers as shown below:

What I have done is screwed these into the 6 places in the case where holes in the case match up with holes in the motherboard. I think I'm right on that bit, but I don't know how to attach the spacers to the motherboard. I've tried it with all the screws that came with the case, but two of them won't fit, and the other type is very loose.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks

Yes make sure they do match up if they dont and touch the board you end up shorting it! Leaving you with either a dead board or dead board CPU RAM GFX CARD AND PSU!

dont tell me you screwed these thru the board the onto the case?

tell me you have screwed these onto the case then inserted a further little matching screw thru the board and into the spacers!

You attach the spacers to the case & then the screws pass through the mobo into the spacers

That's what I've tried, but it seems very loose - like the screws are too long

The screws were with the case.

    The motherboard is this:

    MSI K7N2 Delta-L SKT A 8xAGP DDR400 Nforce2 6ch Sound LAN USB 2.0 Motherboard

Yea, for the mobo screws you are looking for the screws with the round head, not the hexagonal head. The circular head ones have a smaller thread than the hexagonal head ones.

But I've found that the round head ones have a thread that is too long, so the board would be loose. I've found 6 other screws that I think came from a CD drive - 4 of them have a round head. These seem to fit, so they should do shouldn't they?

One last question - is it best to install the mobo before the cpu, and install that with the case on its side, or put the cpu on the mobo first?

I would personally put the CPU in before the motherboard, I just find it easier that way.
