    Headset dilema!

I need a new headset and the Corsair HS1 and HS1A are on special offer everywhere....too good to pass up.

Normally I wouldn't think twice between them, one is USB and I have a great hatred of USB audio devices.....but every review I have read states the USB version is better......

Add to this, the USB function could be quite useful as I boot into other OSes a bit.

Am I losing it? Are reviewers losing it?

I am finding it hard to order a headset that will make my Titanium X-Fi reduntant....

ANyone compared them? Any opinions welcomed!

If you think you have had good value from your X-Fi sc, then get the usb headset (it is really good, a friend has a set). if you still want yet more value from the X-Fi, then get the other headset.

    Re: Headset dilema!

Cheap USB headsets are to be avoided, they have the bad habbit of burning out and possibly taking the usb port with them, however all reports of the corsair ones have been quite good.

Booting into other OS's, what is the driver support like? for both your X-Fi and the corsair headset.
If you've already got your X-fi working in all the OS's you use then the simple audiojack version would be better as you'll not have to faff about getting a 2nd set of drivers working.

Does your X-Fi also work with your front audio ports? if no then you'll have to go digging about at the back of your case to plug the headset in and the USB version would be better.
