    new mouse time

need some help deciding on a new mouse, at the moment got an ms sidewinder. truth be told i've never really got on with it due to the hump in it, i sort of find it most comfortable resting my hand near the bottom of the mouse - so the hump means my finger strains on the scroll wheel. the other issue is when gaming with this mouse my thumb only just reaches the side buttons.

so now i've had enough of it and need a change. before this i had the venerable mx518 which was ace and lasted with solid use for like 4 years, and is the most comfortable mouse i've used in a long time. so looking for a not small but compact-ish mouse for me with not the biggest hands in the world. it needs to have a minimum of 6 buttons for my gaming needs and on the fly dpi change would be preferable to. lastly the budget is fixed to £40...........cheaper if poss although not a necessity.

two that i have seen so far are the logitech g500 and the roccat kova[+]. now having used logitech before i'm used to their packages but has anyone got experience of the g500 and what's it like? now the with the kova i don't know anyone with one - let alone a roccat mouse, although have heard they are good and the easyshift seems like a good idea on the face of it.

both those are within the £40, but are their any other suggestions?

g400. It's the update for the MX518 - same body, better optical engine.

    Re: new mouse time

Iv just bought a g400 for a customer. Its a nice mouse, I just find the roller button a bit cheap feeling. I use a razer deathadder myself and I love it, might not have enough buttons for you though.
The G500 looks like it might do everything you need.

I'm going to get a new mouse shortley. I've got me eye on the corsair m60, hoping it will be good.
