    HP N36L Boot problems

    Folks

Finally got round to making some room for mine. Have stuck a 6450 in it, and swapped the 1gb RAM for a 4gb stick. In addition, I have 4x2gb drives in the 4 bays, and converted the optical bay for a fifth drive (am keeping the included HD as a system drive or something...).

Anyway, BIOS and OSs won't see any of the drives, only the USB ones I'm booting off of. I've flashed the firmware to unlock the 5th SATA port, am I missing something?

    Ta very much.

I'm only suggesting this because I did it once (late night....) and it took me 10 minutes to figure out, thinking that it must be something complicated: have you remembered to hook up the motherboard connector for the drive bay?

Haha, nope. Didn't even know it came disconnected. Also a late night, as you can guess... time to investigate.

Unbelievable... it was plugged in, but needed a little nudge to click into place. That was it. Massive facepalm.
