    Disk Boot Failure

    Just a quick question here
My dad switched his machine off at the wall one night when his machine wouldn't turn off. Now when he next went to use it, he switched it on and he got a message just after POST that said "Disk Boot Failure. Insert Boot Disk To Continue"
He hard drive and everything is fine (from what I know) and I reckon its something todo with the Master Boot Record, being corrupted or something?
Anyway I could repair it if this is it?
    Cheers

Yeah, nothing in cd, floppy so it sounds like a naffed up MBR.
Any way to repair it or do I need to format?
