Ever since my problems as described here: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=14822
I have decided to buy a new mobo.
It must be a socket A, with S-ATA. Not too bothered about onboard sound or LAN. Ideally it would have dual channel memory ability.
Any recommendations? - budget about 50 quid.

£12 over (+P&P), but its really worth it !.
I had quite a few NForce boards before the NF7-S, and i wouldnt change this for anything !

ASUS A7N8X-X dont have SATA iirc (deluxe does though)
NF7-S does

Used to own the A7N8X and definitely prefer this baby

I havent seen any of these mobo's hit the market yet, but I would think they would be the board to have. They'll use Nvidia's new southbridge thats got native SATA, RAID 0,1,0+1 that can span from IDE to SATA!!, GigaLan, "hardware" firewall, etc.

If not NF7-S is the way to do. AN7's arent too bad either.
AN7's are pants. They hardly overclock aswell as the NF7-S, and are aimied at overclockers :\
no sound storm....pftt after all this time they still not betted the nf2 platform
The SATA on the new southbridge chips (400R & 400Gb) will be better implemented as it won't use the PCI Bus to transfer DATA (you won't have SoundStorm on board audio though).
Some people doing high bandwidth TV/Video things managed to saturate the PCI bus but for normal use it is fine.
ABIT's boards with these new chipsets are due out this month.
