whats the diff between these two sticks?

looking at crucial.com there seem to be two types of mem

DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 6ns • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64 (£65.79 )

and

DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • ECC • 6ns • 2.5V • 64Meg x 72 (£82.24 )

(both 1x512 sticks)

Other than the price, whats the difference between the two?
is it worth going for the more expensive one?

ECC is for use in servers and will provide no advantage over the unregistered stick in a normal system.

Yeah as Trashman said, the ECC is required in most server/dual CPU boards because it impliments some extra error checking to reduce any errors, in reality however you won't notice any difference using non-ECC ram.

And a lot of home user boards wont accept ECC RAM now anyway. They used to in the old days, but the support for it seems to been droped in the home market.
