Is it possible to mix one 256mb pc2100 ram (cl2.5) with one 256mb pc3200 (cl3)? (getting fed up on just 256 mb ram)
thanks

you can mix the 2 but they will only run together at the lower speed

Also, its best to use the same brand of RAM (I think using two sticks that are exactly the same model is even better though)Originally Posted by mgh0

If you are overclocking I would agree, but if you are just running at stock you'll be fine.Originally Posted by mike_w

If you put those two together they will default to PC2100 @ CL3.

I have been using 1x256mb of crucial pc2100 and 1 x256mb of OCZ pc3500 together on a ecs k75sa mobo while my main rig was out and they worked ok.As it's been said they default to the slowest ram ratings.
