    is 300w enough?

    hi

the idea is to watercool my system with a zalman Res 1 (including ati waterblock). then to get a fanless 300w psu, which would have to power:

    9700pro
    barton 2800
    raptor
    secondary storage hard disk
    dvd burner

thats it - other hard disks will be on NAS, hopefully be able to run the system fanless.

    know what that means?

    can you hear it?

exactly! hears hoping it can be run without fans, i.e. noiseless (bar the hdds).

anyway, will 300w be enough for the kit specified?

    cheers

This is a good one for figuring it out.
I would say probably not enough. Do they do fanless ones att a higher wattage or are they uberexpensive

if it's a decent 300W psu then definitely - baring in mind most of that stuff will run nicely in a sff with 250W

It depends on the brand a lot, as they vary in quality. Somthing else to loo out for is how many amp's it will supply on each rail before it starts to moan.
If its a good brand PSU, it should work without a probelm. Just dont use a Q-tec
