BEST 2.0 Speakers (without standby Hum)

    Hi

    I'm after a pair of 2.0 speakers for my Home PC....about £40-£90....

I don't need 2.1 and want a set that don't produce an awful hum on standby (some cheaper speakers produce a low freq hum)

Any ideas for october 2011? Or is this thread still valid?

Prefer black...No Subwoofer (2.0 only) thanks

I've got the Creative T20 II right here, on max volume there is a very slight hiss which I can only hear with my ear right next to the speaker, 10cm away and it's silent. Not that I ever use these at max voume!

I think the T20 has the top spot for 2.0 speakers at the price point.

I have a pair of Edifier R1600T studio plus active speakers with my pc and they are quality for the little money I paid for them, none of that humming you mention.

You can get them for ~£60 from a certain stoke based suppler.

I've also got the Edifier R1600T Studio Plus and they're brilliant for the money. However, I paid close to £75 for mine off Amazon.
