I will get around £350 on monday (my birthday) and was wondering what to spend it on. Was thinking of a p4 shuttle with a 9800pro and some more ram. I dont think i could get an Amd shuttle, proc, ram and good gfx for 350 . Any ideas?

Put it towards a nice AMD64 machine.

The parents would kill me if i spent more than that tbh. It kinda is in the x800 price range tho
ram? from ure sig looks like you need it
Pirates = Win.
Yep i do I will get some if i go the p4 route and will get some more faster ram if i do the amd shuttle.
getting a shuttle was the best thing i did, its possible to build one just from ebuyer for £305 without monitor/keyb/mouse i think, its not great tho, worth saving a lil more and getting a better one tho
Pirates = Win.
Well i dont need any optical drives or storage so that might drop the price a little. Might be able to steal a little bit more off my parents tho.
well you cna get the sn45g and a 2500+ for about £215, add your memory and graphics card your pushing on 400-450, search around thought, get some more opinions aswell, i just built what suited me, which was the same but a 9600se cos i ran outa cash
Pirates = Win.
Shogun, it depends what you do with your machine?, you a games player or a browser?.

the SN41G only supports 266 fsb, go for the SN45G, goes to 400fsb and you save as its got no onboard gfx. its a sweet system
Pirates = Win.
Get some more ram. But don't spend £350 on RAM. Lol.

Well considering i only have 2 slots atm I could always get a Gb in each slot
Sk45g puts the price up to 429. Looks like i might have to go second hand if anyones got one for sale?
From your sig I would say you need:
3.0Ghz P4
£130-150
New Motherboard
£60-120
512mb of PC3200
£40-60
and a 9800 Pro
£120-150

dont waste your money, save abit more, about £100 , then you can by a new system, now you can only get few big stuff, you need a new if you get new cpu, if you get new cpu you need new mobo, if you want better perfeormance you need better graphics card, if you want to overclock, you need nice case, fans, cooler.
which adds up to £500
