    Purepower 480W Low fan speeds?

Does any body run this PSU (Thermaltake Xaser Silent Purepower 480w).

Reason I ask is my Abit EQ panel shows that the PWR FAN reading sometimes dips as low as 750rpm . It does go up(1300+) with heavy gaming so I'm not overly worried. Just seems a bit low.

Any advice or reassurance would be great.

Looking at the specifications on the site...that is slow - but if it isn't causing any instability I wouldn't be overly worried about it, and since it's temperature controlled anyway, I'd worry even less - might well be that the header on your mobo isn't reading the speed correctly.

I have one, you have the separate PSU fan controller on the case, I use it as low as it will go so it will be no louder than the other fans in my box, i.e. I set it so its hum equals the other fans lol.

The PSU is designed so that although you control the fan speed should the need arise the PSU will increase the speed as an when required.

    Its a cracking PSU.

    Cheers chaps...

It is a cracker of a PSU! And so quiet I cant hear it above my Radeon/NB/Case fans that sound like a bl**dy hoover

And I dont actually use the manual controllers though cos front one wont match black system, and TBH I couldn't be a**ed fitting the rear one. Figured I'm happy letting system handle it. Although it is down on the list for one of those rainy afternoons.

Did wonder about the mobo reading. But it does go to decent speed under load, so wasn't sure.

*edit* Doh! And temps seem normal.

trust me, you will be more than impressed when you fit the controller, makes a world of difference, I just wish my HSF was not so damn noisy, its the nosiest thing in the case now, even over the GPU fan....
