How much of an overclocker are you?

Quick poll to see what we're like at overclocking here on HEXUS.

I don't tend to o/c things straight away if it's gonna be tricky. However over the last year I've become quite the master of pin mods, soldering and so on - so I'm braver. If I could afford an X800 Pro now - it would be modded into an XT, let's put it that way.

So, up until recently, I would eventuall o/c stuff, once I'd plucked up the courage. Now I don't like stock speeds at all!

    System in sig...

    OC'ed my ti4200 to 621 mem/310 core
    OC'ed my CPU (1700) to 2.2ghz
    OC'ed my RAM to 200fsb (400mhz)

Then thought it would be fun to see how far i could get the RAM, up went the voltage to 2.9 (reading 3.0v in NF7-S bios) and managed to get it to a whooping 227fsb, 225fsb (450mhz) was stable. Which is pretty incredible for PC2700 (stock 333mhz) Anyway, clocked it back down and now it wont go above 180fsb - so that is where it runs. ARSE.

Dont have the money to get any new stuff...ARSE again.

Need to get a xp2500-m, 2x512mb corsair PC3200, and a raddy 9800pro and try again

    Will.

btw - voted "Tried and failed" as i did try, and had it working, but then knackered it....

    I would OC more if

    A) I had bought better gear when I built my comp 10 months ago.

    and

    B) Had more money!

Wish I had bought a 2500+ Barton last yr instead of my 2600+. Never mind it does the job at the moment.

My motherboard is crap at overclocking - so pin modding was the way forward. Required balls of steel though - especially after dropping two tiny wires on the motherboard... still haven't found them. Just blew on the board really hard and hoped they flew away.

My mobo seems to use a lot of juice. Dont think my power supply is good enough for it when i put volts up past 1.65.

Also my case, while being nice, is like a sauna. ****e cooling. Want a nice big full tower or summit eventually.

An Antec 450watter powering the mobo and a few other bits.

Enermax 350 tackling most of the other stuff - drives that aren't done by the Antec, fans, etc.

Like I said, the mother has 6 CD drive bays - that gives you an idea of how big it is.
