Can anyone suggest a psu to use that will be silent or close to it and cost no more than £50
yup i got a winpower 550w PSU for £25 and its silent - and i mean silent, i cant hear a thing from it even if i just run it outside the case with nothing else on
from planetmicro www.planetmicro.co.uk
ok so its probly crap as a psu but ive had no problems with it so far
CWT for £35? and stick 2 ys-tech silent fans in it???
Thanks for the info guys, I was looking at a Zalman one but they are over my budget.
Take a look at the thermaltake PSUs. Mine is the quietest PSU ive owned :)
Will do mate, are they within the £50 budget.
Depends on model. 3xx watt range should be well within. You might find a 4xx in that budget if you hunt around too :)
agree with agent here - thermaltake are quiet, reliable and reasonably priced, depending on the speed setting for the fans you can hardly tell its on sometimes
you can get the 480w for £45 - £50, (but that doesn't include P&P unfortunately)
plenty of places stock the 480w - including
overclock £49.20 inc VAT
microdirect £47 inc VAT
there's also a 420w model , Dabs stock it but their website is so cr@p i can't get a link or view the price, but from memory its about £41 inc VAT
Tagen 380?
Agree with Agent + Ptrefax... Excellent PSU!Quote:

So is the thermaltake still the choice for upto £50 or maybe the butterfly version?
