Office PC

Hi,

My MD does a lot of multitasking and his current computer isn't cutting it. I've always built my own PCs and have never looked into pre built ones. Is a a simple dell all he will need, or are there any alternatives anyone can recommend for a decent office PC that will handle lots of tasks (albeit basic ones like Word, Outlook etc.)? Cheers!

Any modern quad core with a decent amount of RAM should rip apart office apps, even for the most multi-task heavy!

Dell Insperon 620 fits that bill if he buys equipment from Dell.

No OS, this is a decent prebuilt http://www.ebuyer.com/283017-extra-v...p-pc-7873-1049 the ZooStorm computers are nothing fancy or special.

Although I'd ask what he's currently using? both in terms of hardware and software.
What most people mean by multiTasking is having lots of things open at once, with the cpu still just idleing.
Ram and an SSD would be things to look at for having lots of things open at once and faster switching between them.

Thanks for the advice. After speaking to him further I've found out he specifically only wants a Dell (I'm not going to argue), so I'll look into the Insperon 620 series as shaithis suggested

well if he's set on a dell then there's the answer.

no idea if that's a h61/63 or z68 and I don't see an option for SSD.
I'd contact dell and ask about the addition of an ssd (if it's a z68 motherboard then you could use the intel ssd hard drive acceleration thing as that wouldn't require much additional setup and is easy to add to an existing system)

Have a look at the Vostros too - aimed at business users rather than home/home office, so sometimes work out a little cheaper spec for spec.
