Automatic fan control for a rad.

Hello, as of late I’ve been more and more tempted to install a custom water cooling loop (This is my first build so I have no experience water cooling). I intend to start with a double rad and do a CPU only loop to start,
and if I get the money later on to add a triple rad and cover the GPU (GPUs if i can find yet more money :p) as well. Though there is one thing that is bugging me with it.

I've been getting used to my CPU fan speeds being adjusted through my motherboard via AI suite II. This can control a CPU fan a power fan and 2 chassis fans.

If i were to get a water cooling set-up is there any way i could get any sort of automatic control? :help:

I've seen the NZXT fan controllers but I don't know if the temp probes will be able to get good enough readings and if i had a waterblock on the CPU I’m sure there wouldn’t be a very good place to put them.

Not sure if it works this way but is there a system which could use the 3pin slot on the mobo to read the voltage and apply it to a larger number of fans?

I've done a fair bit of research but can't find too much on the subject.

What have people done on this forum relating to this? have you gone with manual fan controllers or found a clever way round? Does it even make to much of a difference with fan speeds on rads. Enlighten me :D

Aquastream XT ultra pump (only ultra version) has an in built fan controller that will control the fans based on an inbuilt water temperature sensor. The wattage rating isn't that high though, but if you used very low wattage fans like GT AP-14s you could probably get away with 9 of them running of it with splitters if you went for GT AP-15 prolly only 4, but the amount of rad you plan to use the AP-14s would be fine.

If you do it that way you get the best radiator fans, a very solid and quite pump (although maybe slightly under powered if you add tehe GPUs) without shelling out for an expensive extra fan controller.

Could you not just continue to to use your motherboard to control the fans as you do now?
You may need a fan splitter (I'd go for one like the Akasa's that take power from a molex connector and just use a fan header connector for speed control) but you could keep them connected to the fan head and just attach them to the radiator.

However I think that will require PWM fans to work, so it may depend on what fans you use (or were planning to use).
