    Question Gaming Mice

    Hi guys,

quick question, my gaming mouse (Logitech G5) has given up after 6 years by the rabbit chewing the braided USB cable! it worked fine for a few days but now is no good at all. I've tried on various pcs and not even the recognition ding is sounding.

So, I am now in the market for a new mouse and would appreciate a few suggestions.

    Things I liked about G5:

    adjustable dpi buttons
    adjustable weight
    ergonomics
    thumb button

wasnt too bothered by the software, although I did like being able to set custom dpi for the buttons

I did look at the G500, but it didnt seem to fit my hand quite as nicley

so any ideas and suggestions would be welcome!

    cheers

I have had a CM Storm Inferno for some time now, it's good value and does the job for gaming and general use. Quite pleased with mine.

Only thing is it doesn't have adjustable weight and the thumb buttons are badly positioned for most people and hence hard to use. So let's see some other options people...

I'll admit I was put off the sentinel by the masses of light falling out of it, although i saw pics from a review on Guru3d so i dont know how intrusive they are for normal light usage

The lights can be turned off in the software, not sure if you can also turn them down

I switched from the MX518 to the G500 which is a very similar transition to the on you are making and i barely noticed a change. I would suggest you give it another chance

    Re: Gaming Mice

I think this depends a lot on how you hold the mouse. I personally grip it with my fingers rather than palming it - something to keep in mind.

I use the G9x, it fits your requirements; adjustable weights, grips, dpi buttons, etc, the only issue I have with it is pushing in the scroll wheel can take getting used as it's rather stiff.

is, although i couldn't justify the price on it. so i went for the Kova[+], and i must say it's the best mouse i've used since my mx518. nice and comfy with a nice texture to it, it also sits nicely in my hand - not to big like the ms sidewinder and can easily reach all button with minimal movement.

    Re: Gaming Mice

Got a Microsoft Sidewinder X8 last week which im really happy about. Only negative is that the DPI is limited to pressets in the software but I can live with that. Got it as a refurb on amazon for £30 which seems a good deal.

I also like the Gigabyte gaming mice if you normally have a palm grip. Dont really think you can go wrong with most mouses these days.

The X8 is a great mouse. Although I had a few problems with the battery after a year or two, but just needed to change the battery.

Have just moved to a Logitech G700. Fantastic mouse, probably the most comfortable I've ever used. Wireless is as good as the X8's too.

I also use the G9x and echo the sentiments of Darx including the bit about the scroll wheel, other than that its a great mouse.

    sorry about late reply!

i'm thinking of going either Roccat Kone + or G500, prob the Kone+ though, i like the design of it, I will have to decide on which to gamble on!

to be honest, I would probably have gone G9 had i the money

    cheers for the suggestions!
