    Gaming Headset - £70

    Hey Guys,

I'm after a gaming headset for around the £70 area. At present I have a Sennheiser headset and it has served me well (got it back in 2005-2006) but now the ear cups are falling apart and the mic end has almost entirely snapped off. I've been looking at things like the Roccat Kulo virtual 7.1, Tritton AX 180, Steelseries Siberia v2, Turtle Beach PX21... anyway I'm sure u get the idea. My problem is that there is just to much choice out there so picking something blind.... or maybe in this case deaf..... is making the choice even harder. What would you guys recommend as a good quality headset for use on Vent/TS and online gaming?

    Thanks,
    Rookie

    Re: Gaming Headset - £70

I've been in the same position, and unfortunately you can really only go on reviews and whatnot.

I have Razer Carcharias and they are pretty good. Sound is good for music and games, nothing out of this world, but for the price, it's adequate. My brother has Roccat Kave 5.1, the surround does help with positional gaming, so I recommend you look for those type of headsets if you play competitive fps etc. They appear well built, sound pretty good again and have a nice equaliser along the cable.

The new Corsair Vengeance 1500 also look good too. I find a lot of these headsets are a little bass light mind. I gather most sets around your price point will all be adequate, so just go for features. You'll most likely have to go for an amplified higher impedance set of cans if you're looking for better audio quality and add a clip on mic.

    Re: Gaming Headset - £70

    Hey,

I ended up going with the Roccat Kulo 7.1, I haven't tried it much yet but from what I have done it does sound and feel good. I don't know what i would be like for music or movies because I use my PC purely for gaming.
