Basically, were talking about the system in my sig. Ive got a XP-M 2500 (AQYHA) running at 12x200 at 1.7v (1.66 low, 1.72 high, 1.69 average), and my idle temps are 40 deg :inquisiti . In saying that, and hour into prime and my temps ar 42 deg! All temps were displayed via MBM5.
I think this seems a little strange, but was wondering if anyone else has had any sort of similar experience.

40 isn't bad at all.
I have an XP TbredA 1.67ghz running at 166x11.5 (1.92ghz) @ 1.9V. I run seti@home to keep temperatures constant, rather than fluctuating based on system load. It is currently at 38, but it is quite cool today thanks to the weather, and I have a volcano 12 :)
I suppose you could check the thermal compound... but I personally wouldn't be hugely worried.
As long as its stable, its ok.
I'd say that that is completely fine, as long as it is completely stable. I would normally start getting worried when it goes to about 55 under stress.
yeah aslong as its stable dont worry, i run my XP2800+ @ 2.4gighz and mines @ 34 degrees atm - tho that is with watercooling
I dont have anything running in the background, so was a bit worried when I saw idle 40!

Those temps are GREAT!!!!!! With the same set up.(in my sig) i have to give my xp-m 1.8v and my temps are 50c idle 54c full load.When i drop it down to 1.7 it will only do 2.2g but my temps just drop to 47c idle and 52 full load.Thats with a sk-7 and a 120mm papst fan.I'd be proud of those temps.Whack a bit more juice through it m8 and clock the b@lls of it!!!!
