    SN41G2 - RGB out?

Finally got my shuttle hooked up to the TV downstairs - I want to try it out as a media player / HTPC and am wondering if you can get an RGB signal out of it?

FWIW the composite out seems higher quality than usual and the s-video is a bit better again but I'd really like to get rid of the colour clash that both exhibit.

    Hi malfunction

I've never tried this, so don't take the following as gospel, but it looks like what you're trying to do is very hard having had a look at a few search results. It seems your best bet would be to stick with an appropriate graphics card (such as ATI's All-in-Wonder range or nVidia's Personal Cinema cards) which tend to come with more advanced features and greater input/output options.

    Kind Regards

Surely you can pull an RGB out of the VGA connector?

Missed this message. Possibly - I know it can be done but most nvidia cards lack the csync required. I'm crap at soldering though so I'm going to badger my brother to make up a lead...

I've got MythTV running on my Linux box, and the only thing letting it down is the TV quality. I've got a 32" Sony Wega Widescreen TV; what were you going to do with the RGB outputs? I'm curious what lead you are going to make as I have heard that you can make an SVGA > Scart socket and, given the right display timing information, plug that directly into the TV...

    Any ideas?

That's what I was planning - VGA --> SCART... Windows not linux though so Powerstrip is my friend - have thought about linux but am too tied into windows at home at the moment... For now I'm using the onboard GFX so would probably need to create the CSYNC signal too - there's more info out there:

I've found the shuttle's S-Video out is better than the composite (as it should be) but it's not brilliant (720 x 576 is OK with larger fonts and DVDs look good though but that's comparing to my PS2 which is said to be poor by most folk). I'm interested in putting together a MAME / emu / media box for the TV so RGB out would really help

Yeah, it looks like that is what I need. I should be able to get X11 to drive that fairly easily. Only problem is the fact that I am rubbish with a soldering iron and small bits of metal.

Do you know anywhere that could make it up for me?

I'm having enough trouble getting my brother to make one up for me - as I'm also totally kak handed when it comes to soldering... Maybe someone on here would volunteer? Have a look through the PS2 LCD thread and see if you can find someone to badger

I've got my shuttle plugged into the TV, it goes from the SVideo out to the scart in on the tv, all u need is an appropriate cable, it only really works for watchin vids etc tho as the resolution is too low to see much of the desktop....
