Not really upto date with dual boards, can anyone recomend one thats stable, and doesnt have an excessive amount of features, hence cheap ?

They've moved on very little since they first came out. Only ones I'm aware of are the Asus, MSI and Tyan boards.
MSI are supposed to have the best in terms of performance and overclocking, no idea unfortunatly as to who has the cheapest :(
