Dont have a specific budget, needs to be suitable for a Roccat Kave 5.1 headset.
I have the same headset with a Xonar D2X (~£80/85) and it sounds top draw in everything(BF3, 192kHz, 6 channel output is Godly ). The only thing I have noticed though is that you lose the rumble "feature" with the Kave's when using the D2X rather than on-board.
Another thing to consider, and my knowledge is limited here (not helped by the general complexity), is whether or not it is worth going all out for a Xonar HDAV. If i understand it correctly, this card allows DTS-HD/Dolby TrueHD to be decoded and sent to your headphones meaning you get the full effect from Blu-Rays. While the Xonar D2X can handle audio that surpasses that out of the Blu-Ray spec it can't decode the DTS-HD/DolbyHD audio streams.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Thanks the Xonar D2X looks like it would suit my needs and not break the bank in the process!
You might want to get a PCI-E card for future proofing, my Xonar DX/XD is really good and should be a bit cheaper. Not sure what features it lacks compared to the D2X though.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
