It's possible and it has been done on a number of occasions, but it's not feasible and certainly out of bounds to those with little or no electronics knowlege.

Laptop LCDS usualy use LVDS or DSI to connect from the motherboard to the graphics card, and seeing as desktop graphics cards don't emmit LVDS signals, you are probably out of luck
It is a fairly standard type of signal, so you may be able to connect somthing to it, for example the Rasbery PI has DSI headers for an LCD montor.
damn, now a days. LCD monitor is cheap as dirt.... why not buy a new or used monitor instead?
